Making Ice Cream!

Today we learned first hand how freezing matter can change it!  We made our own ice cream!

First we mixed all our ingredients into a big bowl.

Then we added salt to some ice in a big baggie.  The salt makes the ice even colder than it already is.

We scooped a small amount of our ice cream mixture into small baggies.

We put the small baggies into the big baggies of ice and salt.  Then we started shaking!!
As we shook, the liquid mixture started freezing and turning solid.

We grabbed a spoon and dug in!
Delicious!

  2. Wow! I admire how clean your classroom remained during this experiment. I tried it at the lab over the sinks with grade 3 and 4 and still we had leakage from the bags.
